Most pools do not need replacing. They need the right work done properly.

A tired marbelite interior, a leaking shell, a pool that is the wrong size for the family that owns it now — each has a fix that costs a fraction of a new pool. When a pool really is finished, we take it out and build a new one in its place.
What we do

Four kinds of renovation

Re-marbelite

A new hand-trowelled interior, in the colour you choose, over a sound shell. New lane markings and mosaics if you want them.

Shell-only reconstruction

A new gunite shell where the old one has failed — keeping the surround, plant and plumbing where they are sound.

Enlargement or reduction

Reshaping an existing pool: longer for lengths, shallower for children, or smaller to give the garden back.
04

Maintenance & repair

Structural repairs, tiling, coping and the recoats that bring commercial water features back.

When a rebuild is the answer

Curro St Dominics: the old pool out, a new one in.

The school’s old pool was demolished and a full gunite pool built in its place over six months, with starting blocks and a cover — ready for the next gala season.

Questions people ask

Can an old pool be re-marbelited instead of replaced?

Usually, yes. Re-marbelite gives a tired interior a new surface for a fraction of what a new pool costs. Where the shell itself has failed, shell-only reconstruction is one of the services offered.

Can you make an existing pool bigger or smaller?

Yes. Enlargement and reduction are both part of the renovation work — a pool that is the wrong size for the family that owns it now can be reshaped rather than replaced.

Do you repair leaks and structural damage?

Yes. Repairs, structural work and maintenance are done by the same crews that build new pools, so the people fixing the shell are the people who know how one is put together.

What happens if a pool really is beyond repair?

Then it comes out and a new one is built in its place. That is a decision taken on site once the shell has been looked at, not from a photograph.

Do you renovate pools you did not build?

Yes, on pools of any age and origin. The plaza lake at Emperors Palace was recoated after a previous coating failed, and the D'Oreal Roman pool there was refurbished with new marbelite and tile.
