Background
The story of the build
A new 25 m water-polo pool built from scratch on a working school site with almost no access — finished in December 2025 for the new school year.
Skye College is an existing school, and access to the site was extremely tight. A main contractor was adding new buildings at the same time, so everything had to be timed to get in before access closed — after which only a wheelbarrow fitted through.
The pool is 25 m by 16 m and 2 m deep throughout, built for water polo. It was completed in December 2025, ready for the new school year.
