Background
The story of the build
A gunite pool at Blair Atholl lined entirely in natural rock, with railway-sleeper edges, a side water feature and a deep end that drops to about 2.5 m.
Built at Blair Atholl, next to Lanseria, around 2002. Curtis Pools built the gunite shell — roughly 10 m by 5 m, and unusually deep, running from 1.2 m down to about 2.5 m in the deep end.
The whole pool is lined in natural rock, with the same rock and railway sleepers around the top and a water feature running down one side; the house is clad in the same stone. The rock work itself was by another contractor — Russ Curtis’s verdict on the finished result is “spectacular”.
