The story of the build
Around 7 000 m² of natural ponds, bog beds and rock streams through an office park in Woodmead — the structural work by Curtis Pools, in phases over two to three years from the mid-1990s.
Harrowdene was built in sections through the mid-1990s, and its water gardens went in phase by phase over two to three years as each part of the office park was completed. Curtis Pools did the structural work on all of it — about 7 000 m² of water in total.
They are natural ponds rather than chlorinated pools: biofilters and bog beds were built into them, and the planting by Landscape Enterprises does the cleaning and polishing of the water. The natural rock work running down through the park was by an outside contractor.
