Background
The story of the build
An indoor 25 m pool finished inside a concrete shell cast by the main contractor — waterproofed, tiled and plumbed by Curtis Pools while the hall went up around it.
At Curro Edenvale the main contractor cast the pool as off-shutter concrete — floor first, starter bars up, shuttered walls — while the indoor arena was built over it. Curtis Pools took the shell from there: waterproofing, mosaics, racing lanes and a commercial filtration system.
The coping is Interbau tile, a pool-specific tile used on competition pools rather than the usual coping, and the school chose two raised bulkheads at either end to carry the starting blocks. The pool was handed over ready for use in March 2020.
